Diffusion-Limited Aggregation

A seed sits at the center. Particles wander in from the boundary, each on a random walk, and stick when they touch the growing cluster. The result is a fractal dendrite — branching structure that emerges from nothing but diffusion and adhesion. Lower stickiness produces longer tendrils; higher stickiness produces compact clusters.
